A little bit about me

I am a mother of 3 ranging in ages from 11 to 14. I have previously taught in preschool settings, taught for Early Head Start, and have been an assistant director for 2 childcare facilities. I have an Associates of Science in Early Childhood Education, an Associate of Arts in general Studies, and am taking my final two Praticum classes to attain my Bachelor's degree Early Childhood Education. I am CPR and First Aid certified and can provide Florida background screening information. I have never actually been a Nanny before but can provide references of those whom have trusted me with their children while taking a much needed break. I prefer to spend weekends with my own children but would be willing to work an occasional weekend. I don't mind shopping or light housework. I enjoy children and believe that the experiences and love that children recieve in the first 5 years strongly determine the later years of all children and into adulthood.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have taught in childcare settings with children ranging in ages from infants to 11 years old. I taught VPK and Early Head Start.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Hands on activities are the best. Of children like getting dirty then I am all in. Of course we clean up after but children should be children. Play in the mud, help cook dinner by squishing cookie dough, jump, laugh, and have fun while learning. Sing. Sing and Sing some more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of any relationship is the bond between a caregiver, the child, and the family. When you have a bond, a connection, everything else falls into place. Love, affection, and learning.

My experience with special needs children...

I fostered a 2 month old fpr 9 months who was born addicted to drugs and showed signs addiction. I have a 5 year old neice with autism, a 3 year nephew with speech delays, and have taught children with autism and ADD/ADHD. Figit spinners and squish balls can be a best friend. I have also used figit seats as needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I've never been a nanny before but as a teacher the most special memory for me was a 4 year old girl who was in foster care and one day out of the blue she told me she wished I could be her mommy. Heartbreaking but heartwarming because she knew she had me in her life between the hours of 7 and 3 and I was always there. She needed that consistency and if I could have taken her home, I would have.
