I have experience caring for children through babysitting and helping care for children of different ages. I’m comfortable with the everyday responsibilities that come with caring for children, including meals and snacks, playtime, keeping them on their routines, helping with homework, and making sure they are safe and comfortable. I’m also very patient and understand that sometimes the most important thing is simply giving a child your attention and being there for them.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing things that keep kids happy, engaged, and off a screen when possible. Arts and crafts, games, reading, music, baking, going outside, playing at the park, and finding activities based on what they’re interested in are some of my favorites. I also love when kids teach me about the things they’re excited about—it’s a great way to connect with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is trust. Parents are trusting you with the most important people in their lives, and I would never take that lightly. A child should feel safe, loved, respected, and comfortable with the person caring for them, while parents should feel confident knowing their children are in good hands. Being dependable, communicating with the parents, and genuinely caring about the child are extremely important to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I understand that every child has their own personality, needs, and way of communicating. While my experience with special needs children has not been in a formal professional setting, I’m very patient, understanding, and willing to learn what makes each child feel comfortable and supported. I would always follow the parents’ guidance and make sure their child feels safe, respected, and included.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moments are usually the little ones—when a child finally opens up to you, gets excited to show you something they’ve made, or comes running to you because they’re happy to see you. I love knowing that a child feels comfortable and safe around me. Those are the moments that make caring for children so rewarding.
