More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in a daycare when I was in my early teens to early 20’s as volunteer work for a family friends daycare. I have always been the go to babysitter for family and friends. As well as experiencing motherhood with own children. I have my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development. I love working with children and love being able to be a part of their journey into being the person they choose to become.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I always ensure to have both in and outdoor activities planned, because we never know what the weather will be like here in TN. We will do everything from arts and crafts, learning and development activities, I am big on reading, and letting them express themselves through music and art. I know each child is different, so outdoor activities can vary and are 100% decided on by the parent of the child, as I will give my recommendations, I always want both parent(s)/child/children to be comfortable when it comes to outdoor activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel the most important thing about being a nanny, is understanding that every single child is different and responds different in situations that you and me might not think twice about. Showing them that you care and are listening to them is so very important as well as consistency. Every child wants to know they are heard, understood, and most importantly loved, just as we do. So I feel it’s important to give them my up most divided attention and respect, as I would want someone to give to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children (one being my own, who had mild Autism and ADHA). So I have experience with working with mild Autism Spectrum, ADHD, PTSD, Trauma, severe anxiety, and other special needs or mood disorders. I am a big believer in sensory processing and working through their special needs and mental development in the most natural way possible. I do not provide therapy but I do have experience in dealing with and working through these situations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when, I was blessed with the opportunity to play a part in helping one of my children, whom I cared for, work through some severe trauma and anxiety. Watching a child go from not wanting to even say a word to you when I first started watching him, to waiting by the door and jumping up to give me big hugs as soon I would arrive. It was a beautiful thing to be a part of and I am grateful to still be able to be there to continue to watch him knock down walls of anxiety and trauma instead of hiding behind them.
