Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I truly enjoy engaging children in activities that support their development while also sparking their creativity and joy. Some of my favorites include:
Arts and crafts – I love seeing how each child expresses themselves through painting, coloring, or creating fun projects. It's a great way to boost fine motor skills and imagination.
Story time – Reading together not only helps build early literacy but also opens the door to great conversations and learning about emotions, problem-solving, and empathy.
Sensory play – Activities like playdough, sand, or water tables are both fun and calming, and they help children explore the world through their senses.
Outdoor play and movement games – Whether it’s a nature walk, playing with balls, or singing movement songs, I enjoy encouraging physical development and teamwork through active play.

My experience with special needs children...
As a respite provider for an 8-year-old child with special needs, I gained hands-on experience offering both emotional and practical support tailored to the child’s individual needs. My responsibilities included assisting with daily routines, promoting positive behavior, and creating a structured yet nurturing environment to help the child feel secure and understood.
I focused on building trust through consistency and patience, using simple visual aids and sensory-friendly activities to enhance communication and engagement. I also collaborated closely with the family to reinforce therapeutic strategies and ensure continuity of care.
This role deepened my understanding of the importance of flexibility, empathy, and clear communication when working with children with developmental or behavioral challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the child I cared for—who had been shy and hesitant about trying new things—finally rode a bike on their own for the first time. We had spent weeks practicing together, with lots of encouragement, patience, and small steps. The look of pride on their face when they realized they could do it on their own was unforgettable.
