Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Daycare teacher - 2 and a half years working with Toddlers, Infants, Preschool, and School Age children.

Early Childhood Education/Intern - I took 2 years of ECE classes which taught me all about the skills to help support the development of young children and was able to apply my learning while working with Pre-K students.
Nanny/Babysitter- I have spent much working as a babysitter and nanny for many amazing children and families over the past 8 years and I find it so rewarding and will continue to grow my skills

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Sensory activities - Children are able to enhance their development through exploration. I love allowing and seeing children being curious and working on their sensory skills through having fun!
Reading/story time - As an english concentration, I have found that there is so much importance for children to listen and be involved with story time and learning/being able to read.
Art - It allows children to be create and explore their imagination while supporting cognitive development. It is also a great opportunity to foster fine motor skills!
Play - Children learn so much through play and greatly impacts their social/emotional development. It is also especially important for children to have fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is being a safe, nurturing, and responsible role-model for the children and family. Creating an environment and space where children are able to flourish, explore and have a positive experience is crucial. Being a nanny is all about balancing taking care and meeting the needs of the children as well as providing the tools and interactions for them to learn, have fun, and grow!
My experience with special needs children...
I was an intern in a Special Education Elementary classroom for 6 months working with 4 students on the autism spectrum and fostered a lot of one-on-one time and skills with the children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when I taught a child how to ride a bike! I was there for them from begging to end, through all of the falls and tears, and it was one of the most rewarding things to see them accomplish such a milestone!
