A little bit about me

I am 21 years old with a little less than 3 years in active childcare and 2 years as a peer tutor to teens with special needs in high school . I have worked as a preschool teacher and was a nanny for 2 wonderful families in a nanny share. I love the outdoors, crafts, cooking, hiking, reading and going on outings such as the red butte garden, the aquarium, thanksgiving point, museums etc, . I also love all animals and pets! I had my own first baby at the end of May and would like to bring along my baby girl! My passion is in childcare and i’m hoping to eventually have the opportunity to go back to school and become a teacher. I currently work in Finance and am excited to be able to return to the world of childcare that I have always adored. I consider myself to be very outgoing and friendly and get along well with everyone. Im so excited and cant wait to meet your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Lead preschool teacher for 3/4 year olds and co teacher for 10-12 year olds and co teacher for newborn-1 year olds.
I nannied for 3 toddlers ages 1-3, and two older kids aged 11-13.
I now have my own 2 month old daughter.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Painting, crafts, cooking/baking, hiking, parks, themed parks, museums, swimming, teaching practical skills, exploring outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Showing kindness and patience to the children. It can be an adjustment for some not having their parents as their primary caretaker and being gentle with all children, regardless of how they may react to that adjustment is a major key in trust building for both the nanny and kid relationship as well as the nanny parent relationship. Understanding each child’s needs and ways of learning and playing.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a peer tutor to three children with special needs in high school for two years. Helped with class work, socialization, community outings and volunteer job training.

The most important part about being a nanny...

With my nanny share, i was able to help potty train 2 of 3 children in preparation for preschool and was so ecstatic to see how proud they were of themselves. Another favorite was when they both started preschool and on the first day of picking them up, watching them talk to each other about school and their new friends and favorite activities made me feel so happy for them and for their parents who were nervous about them starting school. Watching the children grow each day and knowing I was able to help make growing a positive experience has been my absolute favorite part of nannying!
