The most important part about being a nanny...
A great nanny is patient, responsible, and adaptable—able to handle challenges with a calm and positive attitude. Whether it’s helping with homework, encouraging creativity, or simply offering a comforting presence, the role of a nanny is to support a child’s growth and well-being in every way possible.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for children with special needs, including those with autism and sensory processing disorders. I am patient, attentive, and skilled in creating structured routines that provide comfort and stability. I use engaging, sensory-friendly activities tailored to each child’s needs, such as interactive play, calming exercises, and communication techniques suited to their abilities. I also work closely with parents and therapists to ensure consistency in care and support development goals. My goal is always to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment where every child can thrive
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when I helped a shy little boy I cared for gain confidence in reading. He struggled at first and would get frustrated easily, but we made it fun by turning reading into an adventure with silly voices and role-playing. After weeks of practice and encouragement, he proudly read an entire book to me on his own. Seeing his face light up with pride and knowing I played a part in that achievement was incredibly rewarding. Moments like these remind me why I love being a nanny.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Silver Spring, MD: Alexandra L.
I'm a career nanny and Newborn Care Specialist with 14 years of professional childcare experience. What has kept me in this work is simple: I genuinely enjoy children and becoming a trusted part of a family's life.
I'm warm, intuitive, dependable, and proactive. I love getting to know each child's personality and helping them explore their world through libraries, parks, walks, classes, playgroups, and everyday adventures.
I have particular expertise with newborns, infants, first-time parents, twins, feeding support, and sleep, but I also love the toddler and preschool years and would be thrilled to grow with a family long-term.
I'm good at noticing what needs to happen next, creating routines, and helping family life run smoothly. I value open communication, mutual trust, and collaborative relationships with parents, and I aim to support the whole family, not just care for the children.
