More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In my previous roles, I've gained extensive experience caring for children in various settings. I led the kids' team at my church, where I was responsible for a class of 12-18 children, ages 0-6, with the support of just one other assistant. This experience allowed me to develop strong skills in managing a classroom, creating engaging activities, and ensuring that each child received the attention and care they needed.
Additionally, I worked as a full-time nanny for a private family for 8 years, where I was deeply involved in the day-to-day care and development of the children. Beyond my professional experience, I’ve also been the go-to sitter for my friends and family, caring for kids of various ages whenever they needed an extra hand.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I always tailor activities to the child's interests and developmental stage to ensure they are both enjoyable and beneficial.
1. Creative Play: Whether it's arts and crafts, building with blocks, or imaginative games, encouraging children to express their creativity and explore their imagination.
2. Outdoor Adventures: I believe in the importance of fresh air and physical activity, so I love taking kids to the park, playing outdoor games, or going for walks where we learn about the world around us.
3. Reading Time: Story-time is special for me. I enjoy reading books that are not only entertaining but also help children develop their language and comprehension skills.
4. Cooking and Baking: Involving simple cooking or baking activities is always a hit. It's a great way to teach them about healthy eating and basic kitchen skills while having fun together.
5. Music and Dance: Singing songs, playing instruments, or having a dance party are wonderful ways to get kids moving.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny, in my view, is creating a safe and loving environment where children feel valued, understood, and supported. It's about building a strong, trusting bond with the children and their families, understanding each child's unique needs, and being a positive, steady presence in their lives.
Being a nanny isn't just about looking after a child's physical needs—it's also about nurturing their emotional and social development. It's important to me to help children feel secure enough to explore the world, express their feelings, and develop healthy relationships with others. Whether it’s through play, learning moments, or simply listening and offering comfort, my goal is always to contribute positively to their growth and happiness.

My experience with special needs children...
I have had the privilege of working with children with special needs throughout my time as a nanny and in my role as a leader in the kids' ministry at my church. I've cared for children with various needs, including those with developmental delays and sensory sensitivities.
My approach is always to create a nurturing and patient environment where every child feels safe, understood, and valued. I believe in adapting activities and routines to meet each child's unique needs, ensuring they can participate and enjoy their time while also receiving the care and attention they require.
I understand the importance of communication and collaboration with parents to ensure that the care I provide aligns with the strategies and goals they have in place for their child. My goal is always to support each child's growth, development, and happiness in any way I can.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my most cherished nanny moments comes from my time leading the kids' ministry at my church. Our classroom was wonderfully diverse, with children from all different backgrounds, including some who came from challenging home situations. Many of them were initially shy, anxious, or unsure about connecting with others.
Over time, with consistent care and attention, I watched these children transform. We created a safe, loving environment where they felt secure and valued. I saw them not only grow in their education but also develop important social skills like sharing, bonding with other kids, and learning to express themselves kindly and calmly.
It was incredibly rewarding to witness their progress, from learning how to share toys to confidently interacting with their peers. Knowing that I played a part in helping them feel safe, supported, and loved during our time together is something I’ll always treasure.
