A little bit about me

I am a 63 year old mom of 5 and grandma of 9. I am currently employed as a school bus driver. I have worked in education for most of my life, in Early Head Start, Head Start as a direct care provider, with Detroit Public Schools as a payroll clerk and more recently as a paid in home nanny for my grandchildren so that their parents could work outside the homes. I have worked with children with special needs, including, autism, asthma, heart conditions and seizure disorders. Each of the children that I've cared for entered school at and above grade level reading, math and comprehension levels. I am currently looking in to options to get my BS in early childhood education and my teaching credentials. I will also be updating my certification in ACLS BLS. I firmly believe in gentle correction and constructive redirection as forms of discipline but am open to using the methods that the host family most prefers. I don't believe in "cookie cutter" methodology but in individual adaptation.
