I’ve been working with kids for 6 years now, and childcare has really been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom owns a preschool back home, so I grew up helping there during high school and got to experience firsthand what it’s like to create a space where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Those early experiences are a big part of why I love what I do today. I’m now working at a school in Clearwater, Florida with a wonderful group of 2-year-olds, and it’s truly so amazing. Helping little ones learn, grow, and discover the world around them is something that brings me so much joy.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love planning fun, hands-on activities with children, including outdoor play and nature walks, sensory play (like water tables, playdough, and themed sensory bins), arts and crafts, storytime, simple science experiments, music and movement activities, imaginative play, and early learning games focused on colors, shapes, and numbers. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that help children explore, grow, and express their creativity.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel secure, supported, and confident to explore and learn. Building a strong relationship based on trust, communication, and genuine care allows children to grow in the best way possible. I believe that being present, patient, and nurturing while partnering closely with parents helps create a foundation where each child can thrive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments is when a child finally masters something they’ve been working hard on whether it’s putting on their shoes by themselves, recognizing a new color, or saying a new word. Seeing their face light up with pride and knowing I got to be part of that little milestone is the most rewarding feeling.
