I definitely follow the lead of the child. I like to tune into their interests and structure our activities around that. I love spending time outside, doing creative activities, going to the library, and more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Though organization, timeliness, and more are all of paramount importance, I think the most important thing a nanny can have is empathy. Understanding that these kids have very big feelings and are figuring everything out for the very first time is so important to forming a trusting, nurturing relationship with the kids.

My experience with special needs children...

I've cared for children with different development levels. No matter the child, I always take an individualized approach and do all that I can to ensure that each child under my care is happy and comfortable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Before I graduated, one of the kids got a hold of a paper I was writing from my bag and took the liberty of creating a masterpiece over my writing. That was a funny chat with the professor.
