Hi, my name is Sarah and I have been working with children full-time for the last 8 years! The first three years were spent working in a daycare, first as a toddler teacher and then a preschool teacher. I spent the last five years as a nanny for a family with 3 children. I have experience with children of all ages, from newborn to school-age.
While I do believe structure and consistency help children thrive, I do also have a more laidback approach to childcare. In my experience, an environment that is too strict becomes stressful for not just the children, but also the parents and myself. Adults are present in a child’s life to teach and guide, but that doesn’t mean we can’t also let a child follow their natural instincts. Children are people too!
I am willing to plan activities and crafts, go on occasional outings, prepare meals, and do some basic cleaning and pet care. I was CPR certified in the past but that has since expired. I am willing to renew it if necessary.

I've been fortunate to have baby sat/ au paired/ nannied kids from infancy to 14 years old. I've also mentored kids through big brothers big sisters and compeer from ages 12-17 years old. Recently I've gained a nephew who I was lucky to have met on day one of his life and am lucky to have hung out with pretty much every week since (he's 6 months old now). I love kids and absolutely care about their safety, whether mental, physically, or psychological.
