In addition to my childcare experience, I am currently pursuing my social work degree at Texas State University online. The most important part about being a nanny...

Above all a nanny must ensure the safety and well being of the children. This includes keeping an eye on them, knowing basic first aid, and ensuring that the children are in a secure and supportive environment. Trust is also crucial in a nanny-child relationship. Trust is built through consistency, and understanding as of the family’s expectations. Every child is different and situations can change quickly so it is important to be adaptable, patient and calm in any circumstances. As a nanny I will respect the family’s values, routines and parenting styles. Whether it’s meal preferences , bedtime rituals, or disciplinary approaches. At the end of the day being a nanny means creating memorable moments and having fun with kids! These moments of joy, laughter and connections are what to me makes a Nanny so rewarding.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I was caring for a young child. Who was initially a bit shy and hesitant to try new things one afternoon we were doing a art project and I encourage them to try painting with bright colors, even though they were a little, unsure at first slowly, but surely they started to get more confident and by the end of the activity they had created a beautiful painting. It was so proud of their work!
