More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My entire working career has been childcare and teaching oriented. I previously worked for Edina public schools, before switching completely over to teaching at Montessori based schools.
The last three years I have been a live in Nanny for a private home in Edina, where I cared for eight children between the ages of 2-16. It was a wonderful experience to be able to provide them with excellent care while their parents both worked, travelled, and managed a ranch. Our daily activities ranged from school work, fort building, to nature walks. On the weekends I was needed, we often would set out on adventures to the zoo, the mall, or picnicking at the lake.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I think it's important to recognize the little joys that life brings. That includes learning about new, encouraging activities to practice and teach. I love bringing crafts to the table, or to the grass. I love hiking, and exploring what the world has to offer; and nothing is better then watching the children I care for grow through play. I'm often excited about what they're excited about!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ultimately, it's about providing safety, consistency, and structure to the children in my care. I'm very open to having playful moments, while also understanding that creating an enriching learning environment for schoolwork, house chores, and getting to bed on time is what my job is really about. However, I believe that the right structure can create harmony, laughter, and kindness in times where children might otherwise struggle.
My experience with special needs children...
My brother is the original reason I started my career in teaching. Being on the spectrum, he was able to teach me what it truly means to love someone without judgement. Through watching his struggles, I was able to better understand not only myself but provide him with the stability of an older sister. It truly has been a privilege to watch him grow up, and know that he is thriving.
I started working more directly with special needs children at Edina Public Schools in 2019, where I was a Paraprofessional for one student during the day.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I'm always up for a game of hide and seek. My Service dog has learned how to play as well, and it's made for amazing memories in the homes I've worked in, but if picking my favorite little memory-
I once was searching for children and dog, being very careful not to notice the giggling tot under the blanket in the middle of the living room- I had continued searching for the older four and the dog. When I wandered past the bathroom, I noticed an ever so excited tail wagging just outside the shower curtain. Upon entering the bathroom to reveal someone- I pulled the curtain to find all four children in a pile in the tub- all in fits with laughter at me surprising them.
A tub of giggles and dog fluff.
