More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've done a lot of volunteer work with children during my three consecutive years participating in Vacation Bible School. As a volunteer, not only was I responsible for a large group of children, but I was also tasked with enriching their experience. From leading them to different activities and encouraging and engaging them, to teaching them important lessons when the time came, I connected with the kids in a way that was positive and fun for everyone.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing storytime with kids due to my own love of reading. I believe it's important to enrich a child's development with personal connection. I also believe that the most beneficial part of play in childhood is the key exercise it provides—which is why interactive play and park-time is one of my go-to activities. If visiting children's museums are not an option, I like to do something arts and crafts related to keep the kiddos imaginations churning!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most crucial component of being a nanny is providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for the children. This entails not only guaranteeing their physical safety and well-being, but also meeting their emotional and developmental needs with attentive, empathetic, and responsive care. A nanny must establish a solid, trusting connection with both the children and their parents, while keeping open communication in order to harmonize parenting styles and expectations. Adaptability, patience, and a true love for children are essential skills since they allow the nanny to properly handle a wide range of situations while also positively contributing to the child's growth and pleasure.
My experience with special needs children...
I currently have no experience with special needs children, but I have taken a child development class that covered the basics. I understand the different approaches that need to be taken from a medical or educational standpoint, but I also understand that special needs children still require care, love, and interactive play just like any other child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was watching 4-year old Quinn play with his extensive train set, and watching him connect all the track together in unique and creative ways—I realized in that moment how children truly need enriching environments because when they are provided with encouragement, their amazing developing minds can do all the rest.

Full-Time Nanny Available in Charlotte, NC: Leandra A.
Hi! I’m Leandra :) I’m 20 years old, Aquarius that loves trying fun things, music and road trips. I was born Puerto Rico but my parents are Dominican so I grew up within both cultures. That influenced my love for community, fun and nature- so thanks to my upbringing, I love caring for kids, animals and people overall. I know how stressful and hard it can be to have to work and not stay home and be with your family. On my spare time, I love helping people, caring for animals and being in nature. In stressful moments, I’ve helped so many of the kids I’ve taken care of regulate their emotions and that tells me to keep following that passion overall. I truly look forward to be able to help a parent out in a way that makes a difference.
