I spent two years as a preschool teacher and paraeducator for children with special needs, followed by six months as a nanny for five children, three of whom also had special needs, before relocating. My experience with special needs children...
I have a sister with special needs who is now 24, which has provided me with lifelong experience in understanding how to best support individuals like her. When I was younger, I took on the responsibility of training her caregivers whenever we welcomed someone new. Additionally, I served as a nanny for a family with three children under the age of 10, all with special needs. My experience also includes working at a school for children with special needs, primarily as a paraeducator, where I catered to their individual needs while also teaching a preschool class for children on the spectrum.
