A little bit about me

Hello! my name is Journey. I have always had a passion for teaching and nannying. I also have a brother who is 8 years younger than me who I found myself responsible for in times where the parents were busy with work! I have a LOT of experience with children and will always make sure your child/children are both safe and happy at all times. I want to be both a friend a responsible caretaker to your child/children! I moved to New York about 2.5 year ago. I am always down to meet for a cup of coffee so that I may meet you and the child to make sure it would work for everyone.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I grew up with childcare at my home for children ages 0-3 starting at age 8. I started helping from a very young age, became the assistant teacher at the Montessori childcare, and began officially babysitting children when I was 14.

I also volunteered at a summer camp for three months where I helped to watch over young 60 children and helped teach them academics while also doing fun and safe activities or field trips.

I am always down for any fun and safe activities both inside and out from running around playing games outdoors to being orderly at home while also having fun!

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is not only making sure your child is getting the care they need, but are safe and have a friend! I strive to be someone your child can rely on but also the parents!

My favorite memory over my time helping children is while I worked at the childcare this one young girl had grown very attached to me as I had spent a lot of time with her while she transitioned in and got used to being away from her parents while they went to work. She had quite a strong reaction when her parents left which had left them feeling stumped. But one day when the parents came to get her she actually was refusing to leave unless I came with her! I walked her out to her car while having a nice little conversation about cats and buckled her into the car seat. I explained to her I couldn't come with her but I would be right here in the morning waiting for her arrival so that we could play, but after she got a nice dinner and some sleep. She got very excited and then was all of a sudden in a rush to get home! The smiles from her and her parents that day warmed my heart.
