Hi! My name is Julia. I’m Brazilian and truly passionate about caring for children. I love creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable exploring, learning, and growing.

I’m currently studying child development through a Montessori-based course called The Power of the Child with the Montessori Home Community in Brazil. Through this program I’m learning more about respectful communication, independence, and how to support children as they build confidence and discover their abilities.

I’m certified in CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants, as well as Standard First Aid (BLS), and I always prioritize safety.

I also enjoy keeping parents connected to their child’s day by sharing updates and special moments so they can feel reassured even while working. I have a driver’s license and my own car and I’m happy to help with outings, activities, or errands related to the children.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My most recent experience was caring for a baby from 6 to 18 months old. I created and maintained her daily routine, prepared meals using the baby-led weaning (BLW) approach, and planned activities that supported her development through play, reading, music, sensory activities, and outdoor walks.

As she grew, I helped guide transitions such as encouraging more independent sleep and preparing her to start daycare. Watching her gain confidence, learn new skills, and become more independent was one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Occasionally I also helped care for her 4-year-old brother when he was home from daycare, organizing activities they could enjoy together.

In addition, I’ve cared for a 9-year-old boy with autism, adapting activities to his structured routine and creating a calm, supportive environment. I’ve also supervised groups of children during church and community events.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating moments where children feel safe to explore, play, and truly be themselves. I often follow the child’s curiosity, turning simple moments into playful learning experiences. A cardboard box can become a house, chairs and stuffed animals can turn into a school bus, and blankets can transform into cozy little forts where imagination takes over. Through play, music, and stories, I encourage children to explore the world around them and make small choices that help build their confidence and independence. Many of the activities I do are inspired by Montessori principles, where the adult observes, supports, and allows the child to discover their own abilities at their own pace.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe and loving environment where children feel secure to explore and be themselves. When a child feels supported, curiosity, confidence, and independence grow naturally. I also believe that building trust with parents is essential, so they feel at peace knowing their child is cared for with attention, respect, and genuine care.

My experience with special needs children...

One meaningful experience I had was caring for a 9-year-old boy with autism. He followed a structured routine, and my role was to help create a calm and predictable environment where he felt safe and comfortable. I adapted activities to his interests and respected his pace. This experience taught me patience, observation, and how important it is to understand each child’s unique needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my most meaningful nanny moments happened with the baby I cared for from 6 to 18 months old. When she was younger, she sometimes fell asleep in my arms when she wasn’t feeling well, and those quiet moments always felt very special to me. As she grew, she became more independent and rarely wanted to be held anymore. One day she woke up from her nap a little scared, so I picked her up and sat with her in a chair, holding her while she slowly calmed down. She rested her head on my chest while I gently stroked her hair, and we stayed there quietly for a while. In that moment I realized how much she had grown, and how meaningful it is to be someone a child trusts for comfort and safety.
