My mom was a special education teacher growing up which really gave me my passion for caring for kids. But I myself have worked as a gymnastics coach and a CNA for at home health as well as nursing care for several years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
anything fun! I love the outdoors; best/cheapest way to enjoy the world! I always joke that I can teach any kid gymnastics. But really, when I spend time with kids, I treat them as some of my best friends, and I can always fun just doing fun kid things!
My experience with special needs children...
My mom is a special education teacher, and has been for the past 25years. Growing up, some of my closest friends were of my moms special needs students. My mom has worked all the way from being pre k behavioral specialist, through high school, and all the way to severe disabilities. Special needs individuals are usually misunderstood in my opinion; but aren't we all? I think all share more in common than we all think-- were all just looking for someone to understand before passing judgement. Needless to say, there is and always will be a special place in my heart for our special people in this world.
