A little bit about me

Hi! I have 25 years experience in childcare; about 6 of those in a professional daycare/preschool (as opposed to home daycare), and the rest as a Nanny. I have impeccable references. I have plenty of experience with infants all the way through 10-12 year olds. I’ve cared for twins and triplets, adopted children, families with only their first new infant, families with many children, and a variety of daycare, preschool, and after school care environments. I love childcare tremendously, and I never want to do anything else. I had to pick an hourly wage for my profile here, but I do not work on an hourly wage. I work on salary. If you are willing to nanny share me with another family, you can each pay less. Just food for thought.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Walks, bike rides, coloring, painting, play doh, ball, reading, board games, puzzles (especially with older children), going to playgrounds, kayaking with older children when practical, hide and seek, paper airplanes, going to the zoo when possible…. The list goes on and on 😁

The most important part about being a nanny...

Whew… this is a hard one. There are too many of these in 25 years. One that stands out right off the top of my head is when I ran into a teenager whom I had previously done after school care for through his first few years of school. I hadn’t seen him in many years and had no idea how big an impression I had made. He was a high schooler out skate boarding with his friends when I ran into him, and he was so happy to see me he had tears in his eyes and couldn’t stop repeatedly hugging me. I was so touched, I almost cried!
Another amazing moment was when one of the kids I previously nannied for 5 yrs got in touch with me when he was in high school cause he needed to write a paper for school about a most influential person in his life. He wanted to write it about me and needed to interview me as part of the process. Wow!
