More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

At the age of 12, my mom came to me with the idea of becoming a foster mom. I was immediately on board because, although I was not an only child, both of my siblings were much older than me and lived on their own. The following year, being a foster sister helped me decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I started volunteering at multiple daycares, and when I was old enough, I got my first position as an assistant teacher. I went to college, got my degree in Early Childhood Education, and received my teaching certificate in Florida. I nannied for two families, babysat, homeschooled a 1st and 5th grader, taught in a charter school as a kindergarten teacher, taught in a public school as a Pre-K special needs teacher, and tutored.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love swimming, going to the park, going to the library, traveling, doing arts and crafts, and pretty much anything active. I love random dance parties, making paper airplanes, and more. I really enjoy creating memories and experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The children’s safety, as well as how you are around them, is really important. We can all admit that no one is perfect, but when around children, you’re trying to raise them to be better than we were. When I’m part of a family, it’s never just a position for me; I think of myself as part of the family, like a big sister and a good role model in a fun way. I want to teach new things, create amazing memories, and make sure they’re safe at all times.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when I created a six-week summer program for my kids when they were out of school. These boys were ages 2 and 4 and loved anything and everything related to trucks, dinosaurs, etc. I created the program, keeping in mind their interests while also introducing new things. Each week had a theme filled with fun activities, interesting information, and field trips. For instance, one week was fire week. We watched and read stories about fire and fire safety. I created an activity where I stacked red solo cups and they used the hose to “put out the fire.” At the end of the week, we went to their local fire station where we met firefighters, toured the fire station and fire truck, and the firefighters even let us “use” the fire hose (with them holding it, of course).
