A little bit about me

I'm a recent AmeriCorps Alumni, where I had just spent a year in Colorado servicing both at the elementary school and the Boys and Girls Club there.
I'm quite childlike myself and enjoy doing arts and crafts with kids- I've even discovered my own love for origami while working with kids at the BGC.
I like to make every day things fun when I'm with kids, like cutting snacks into fun shapes or making a bedtime routine into a little game.
It's my goal to first, be safe, and second, make sure to bring a smile to your child's face.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

At the Boys and Girls Club of the High Rockies and the elementary school linked to it in Fairplay Colorado! I spent an entire school year helping in the kindergarten classrooms and in the lunchroom at the school, and I was full time at the BGC where children from ages 5-17 went. I even created my own lesson plans and executed them for our summer programs at the BGC.
I also have nannied for a friend whose kids are 3, 5, and 11, watching the kids inside her home, prepping meals for them, creating a daily schedule that included arts and crafts in the morning, then making breakfast together, then we would have some free time, whether that was collaborative games we made up on the spot, or going outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is to provide a safe and fun place for the child or children you're with. I lived a life where I didn't have many adults like that, and I spend a lot of my adulthood trying to make sure other kids have that. I want to help be a warm and welcoming adult for them.

My experience with special needs children...

I once volunteered for the Miracle League which is a group where a baseball-like game is played with kids of various special needs. I was partnered up with a kid who had autistic needs and I happily played with him. He was very sweet and excited.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment will always be those small moments where a child wants to give you a "gift". Yes, most of the time it's a random piece of trash, or a drawing that you can't even tell what it is, but in these moments, you can really see the connection you've made with the child.
