A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Kainoa, i currently work in health care right now but hoping to soon change that into taking care of kids. Before working in health care I was a swim instructor for a place called the Australian Swim School. Before that I was teaching young kids how to dance at a dance studio. I just loved working with kids, especially the babies. I love being apart of their learning environment and seeing the look in there eyes of understanding that something new has happened. My goal in a child’s life is to be a positive, you can do anything you put your mind to mindset, and just letting them know that they are so loved. I also love to take kids on walks, making sure they get the exercise that is needed, I am not a video game nanny I find the joys in stepping in the creative side of the brain instead of sitting and watching tv all day.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteer my time at church and i serve my time with the babies. Ive also been a Swim Instructor from ages 3 mo- Adults. I’ve babysat for my 3 nephews in the past. And I’ve also volunteered my time with young kids teaching them how to do Tahitian dancing.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking kids on walks, enjoying the sun, the beach, the park, If a family has a dog even better. Inside activities I love to tap into the creative side of things, making arts and crafts, listening or watching impactful music or tv.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is just letting the children know that they are so loved. I love being apart of kids lives that involve being fun and active. And just being there to help model what a good person looks like besides the mom and dad of course.

My experience with special needs children...

The only experience I have with special needs kids is working with the swim school. The youngest I’ve worked with was 2 years old and the oldest I taught was 15. Ive learned to read the kids that I was with and to see what there limit was and to see if we could exceed that limit but gradually pushing that bar further and further if they’d let me. I have been able to have the please of working with kids from both end of the spectrum. Ive also worked with kids that are deaf as well. My sister in law is deaf so I’ve learned some sign language not professionally just enough to get me by.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny/babysitting moment would be, the time I took my Nephews to the beach with the dogs. We went down to the dog beach and enjoyed the sun, watching the dogs get into the water with the boys. I will say it was a magical day filled with laughter and sun.
