A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Kait and I moved to South Carolina over a year ago after accepting a job as an educational sign language interpreter. I graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and majored in Sign Language Interpreting. While I was completing my degree, I worked at Michigan School for the Deaf and Blind. I signed up for an ASL class in high school out of curiosity and I have been captivated by the language and culture ever since. I love engaging with children. I mostly enjoy the use of our imagination- for example pretending we are pilots flying a plane or by pretending a swing set is a boat and we are fishermen at sea. What really motivates me to work with children is the mere fact that I am capable of making an impact on their lives by leading them with my example. When I work with children, I make it a priority to exhibit a positive attitude, a zest to foster knowledge, curiosity, and a sense of wonder towards what the world has to offer.
