I have worked in group home settings and one on one settings with mental and behavioral challenged children. I have also ran my own nursery when I was growing up and I used to volunteer with children all the time.

I find that doing activities with children are fun and a great way to distract children. My favorite activities with children are reading books, playing games, and playing outside in mud, rain, etc. I believe these three activities really shape a young ones brain for the better.

My favorite nanny moment was when this kid with autism that I was watching came up to me one day and just gave me a big hug and said hi, even though it was unexpected and the hi was quiet he had never said anything before or given anyone a hug and anytime someone tried to pick him up as a baby hed scream and kick.
