I believe that the most important part about being a babysitter would be being very reliable, and also making sure that the children feel safe and comfortable around you while being able to play with them and teach them things while also still having authoritative traits.
My experience with special needs children...
I happen to have a good amount of experience with special needs children. For about a year I volunteered in a special education classroom at an elementary school. I helped them with whatever they may have needed help with, and I helped them learn new things or learn things they had trouble understanding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moment I’ve had as a babysitter would be when one of the children I was watching, expressed to me how I’ve really helped her and she told me that she was very glad I was able to be her babysitter. This was one of the moments I really felt like I was not just this child’s babysitter, but also someone she could really count on for other things besides basic needs.
