I truly enjoy turning every day into a new adventure! For the little ones, I love setting up sensory bins with things like rice, pasta, or safe kitchen tools—it’s amazing how long they can explore and learn with their hands! We are also big fans of ‘messy but safe’ creative time, which means lots of finger painting, playdough, and sidewalk chalk when the weather is nice. I also make sure we have active fun every day, whether it’s a silly dance party, building an epic blanket fort, or heading outside to chase bubbles and practice those new walking and running skills! I like to weave in a little bit of learning by reading lots of interactive books and helping them explore their world by naming colors, shapes, and animal sounds as we play. The goal is always to keep their minds and bodies happily busy!

For me, the single most important part of being a nanny is building a foundation of trust and secure attachment with your children. It’s not just about managing the daily routine; it’s about providing a safe, warm, and predictable presence they can count on every single day. When a child feels truly secure and loved in their environment, they have the confidence to explore, learn, and develop into happy, well-adjusted little people. I strive to be a reliable and patient anchor for them, making sure they always know I’m there to offer a cuddle when they’re sad, cheer for them when they succeed, and help them navigate their big feelings. That connection is what makes this job so meaningful and effective!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments actually happens all the time! Just recently, I was helping my little guy with a tricky puzzle—he was getting a little frustrated, so I sang a little song about the shapes to cheer him up. He immediately stopped fussing, watched me, and then pointed right to where the piece went! Seeing his face light up with that huge smile of accomplishment was the absolute best. It’s those tiny moments of discovery and connection—when you help a child conquer a challenge or just share a huge belly laugh—that truly warm my heart and remind me why I love caring for kids so much.
