Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I feel like I’ve had children in my life for so long I don’t know where to begin. Let’s see, besides raising my son and my niece to adulthood, I’ve also taken care of nieces and nephews not under my full-time care. When I was in my teens and early twenties I worked at Wee-Care Daycare in the toddler room (where I learned songs I STILL sing to kids.) In high school I worked at an in-home daycare after school. I think being good with children comes natural and easy for me. I truly enjoy them and I think they pick up on that.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going on nature walks, implementing learning into fun, singing, storytelling, building, crafts, board games, encouraging artistic expression, building self-esteem through play.

Making children feel valued and cared for. Building self-esteem. Having fun! These years go so fast but are so important.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with pediatric psychiatric patients in an inpatient environment as well as private duty for a teenage girl on a ventilator. I always thought I’d work pediatric nursing until I actually worked peds and it was absolutely heartbreaking.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have so many favorite moments, I used to keep a diary of the funny things kids would say. One 9 year old boy answered the house phone and tried to sell a telemarketer his Morley candy. I’m really dating myself with this memory.
