A little bit about me

I appreciate the time you are taking to review and evaluate my qualifications as a candidate for part-time help with children. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as an elementary school teacher credential with 27 units beyond my bachelor’s degree. In my experiences, I have taught in public schools, private schools, preschools, and have homeschooled for 30 years. I have also provided home day-care off and on since 1997 to numerous children and have produced many self-created programs, activities and events for these children in order to educate, physically stimulate, and entertain them. Lastly, I opened my own private school during the pandemic last year and met face to face for instruction. My four students excelled and graduated at or above grade level in all areas.
I am highly qualified for any child care position you might have and currently wish to only work part-time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My name is Karen Alexander. I have taught in public schools, private schools, preschools, and have homeschooled for 32 years. I am a former certified foster parent and cared for 12 foster children—mostly infants, and completed over 105 hours of certified childhood development training. I have cared for children in my own home, as well, in a day care capacity. Lastly, I opened my own private school during the pandemic last year and met face to face for instruction. My four students excelled and graduated at or above grade level in all areas. Currently, I am cutting back and wish to work part time with children in any capacity.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging with children. You will not find me on my cell phone. I like to play with children, read to them, teach them academics, sing to them, do crafts, create Pinterest type activities, and teach manners and respect in a calm manner. I am very loving and children always bond strongly to me. I am also extremely creative--way beyond the norm!

My experience with special needs children...

I am experienced with autism. My own adult daughter and one foster baby we cared for are on the spectrum.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Most of the kids I care for do not want to go home when parents pick them up. That tells me I am doing a great job bonding and giving them a well-balanced childhood experience.
