More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My experience working with children comes from many chapters of my life. As the second oldest of sixteen grandchildren, I’ve basically been on “caretaker lane” since childhood. Professionally, I spent two years as a music and movement teacher for students on the autism spectrum, where dancing, singing, and learning through play were part of everyday life. I later worked in higher education as a Resident Assistant and Housing Operations Manager, supporting people through big transitions and learning how to lead with patience, creativity, and care. No matter the role, I’ve always loved creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and encouraged to be themselves.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is all about patience, a big heart, and actually listening. I tune into the family’s rhythm and the kiddo’s cues, then blend gentle routines with lots of play so learning feels fun, not forced. For me it comes down to care, consistency, and laughter (not being afraid to be a big kid yourself) those things make kids feel safe, seen, and ready to grow.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with special needs students through Project Think, where I followed each child’s lead first. By using play, music, and nature to understand how they learned and expressed themselves. From there, I gently introduced routines that felt supportive rather than strict, helping kids feel safe, confident, and engaged. My focus was always on meeting developmental goals while honoring each child’s pace, interests, and individuality.
