Activities I enjoy doing with children...
-I'm really into hiking and being outdoors, so going for walks and hikes, playing at parks, visiting State parks, swimming, going for picnics, hammocking...the list goes on! I'm also really into books and reading (I have such a soft spot for kids books and could read stories for hours). I also loooove taking kids on adventures - to the lake, museum, zoo, aquarium, Mall of America, grocery store, running errands, renting canoes, hiking the Arctic Tundra, etc. However, that's a lot of activity, so you can't go wrong with movies or a show, especially when it's snowing or raining :) As a side note - I have some food allergies (gluten and corn), so I tend to stay to stay away from cooking/baking projects that would involve flour flying everywhere! I am (of course) more than happy to do simple meal prep, prepare meals and feed the kids.
My experience with special needs children...
Minimal, but would absolutely love to gain more experience! I have trained with a variety of skills in nursing school so far, including oxygen, insulin, EpiPens (Long story but I had to give one to my college roommate this year so I'm basically a pro!), feeding tubes and more. So far it's a lot of lab/classroom learning that I would love to put into practice! I'm also really good with kids with anxiety/ADHD/difficulty regulating and similar emotional conditions.

Hello! I am someone who adores working with children and I've nannied/babysat for over 30 families. My degree is in Health Science though my background is in nursing (I took a break during the pandemic). I've taken numerous classes and trainings and received many certifications to insure the children I work with have the best experience and safest care (certified in oxygen, first aid, and medical professional level child and adult CPR). I believe in aspects such as imaginative play, healthy eating habits, developmental exploration activities, and hands on learning. I've also worked in every health setting I can think of including home health care/respite, hospital (med/surg), hospice, nursing home, and clinic settings. Care is my passion whether it's the young or elderly end of the age spectrum. I can work with all types of children and their families and swiftly adhere and adapt and to different parenting styles and household standards. Please reach out if I seem like a good fit!
