Hi! My name is Katelynn Riley, and I’m 18 years old. I have over 400 hours of experience working with children ages 3–5, and I’ve loved every second of it! I’ve been a teacher’s aide at Willis Elementary & McNeal Elementary, babysat for several families, and completed a four-year Early Childhood Education program in high school, where I earned my CDA certification and learned all about child development from newborns through kindergarten. I’m CPR and First Aid certified, have my driver’s license and a reliable car, and I’m also a former student athletic trainer, so I’m very flexible, calm under pressure, and confident handling first aid situations. I was enrolled in an Early Childhood Education course for all four years of high school, and throughout the program, I gained extensive hands-on experience working directly with young children. I spent countless hours in a preschool classroom, where I was responsible for looking after the children, supervising playtime, assisting with meals, leading activities, and supporting their daily routines. I not only learned about child development and behavior in the classroom setting, but also applied that knowledge every day by helping care for children ages 3 to 5. My role involved keeping them safe, engaged, and emotionally supported. Most recently, I had the amazing opportunity to begin teaching in a kindergarten classroom at Willis Elementary and McNeal Elementary, where I helped guide students through academic lessons and social development.
