A little bit about me

I'm Katey, a 27 y/o F and a second-year medical student with several years of experience working as an EMT. I’ve cared for patients of all ages in both emergency and non-emergency situations, which has trained me to stay calm, think quickly, and prioritize safety at all times. I am CPR and First Aid certified and maintain an active EMS license, so your child’s well-being is always my top priority.
I also have hands-on experience caring for children with different ages and needs. I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable leaving their child with someone, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I am attentive, patient, and dependable, and I always make sure children are safe, engaged, and cared for in a structured and positive environment.
Whether it’s following routines, helping with homework, or simply providing a calm and supportive presence, I aim to give parents peace of mind knowing their child is in capable and trustworthy hands.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have several years of experience working with children of different ages and needs, and I truly enjoy building positive, supportive relationships with them. Through both my childcare experience and my background as an EMT, I’ve developed strong communication, patience, and adaptability when caring for kids in a variety of situations. I have cared for NICU newborns to children in their upper teens. I’m comfortable managing daily routines, helping with homework, engaging in fun and age-appropriate activities, and providing attentive care tailored to each child’s personality and needs. My medical training has also given me a deeper understanding of child development and safety, allowing me to care for children in a way that is both nurturing and dependable.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping kids engaged through a variety of fun and meaningful activities, and I always tailor what we do to each child’s interests and personality. I believe every child is unique, so whether they enjoy arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading, games, or creative activities, I make sure to meet them where they are and keep them excited to learn and explore. I focus on activities that support both a healthy mind and body—encouraging movement, creativity, and curiosity while also helping build confidence and independence. My goal is to create a positive, engaging environment where children feel happy, supported, and able to grow in their own way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A child's safety is the most important aspect to me when taking care of someones kid.I am highly attentive to my surroundings and proactive in preventing potential risks before they become problems. I make sure children are always supervised, in a secure environment, and following safe routines whether we’re at home or out. I am CPR and First Aid certified and prepared to respond calmly and effectively in any situation, but my main goal is to create a safe, stable environment where emergencies are unlikely to occur. Parents can feel confident knowing their child’s well-being is my number one focus at all times. When it comes to your child/children, giving the parent a sense of peace when gone is what I tend to reach for.

My experience with special needs children...

I also have experience working with children who have special needs and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and individualized care. Every child is different, and I take the time to learn their specific routines, preferences, and ways of communicating so I can best support them. I’m comfortable adapting activities and approaches to meet each child where they are, whether that means providing extra structure, encouragement, or a calm and supportive environment. My medical background has also helped me stay attentive and responsive to each child’s unique needs, while always making sure they feel safe, understood, and included.
