The most important part about being a nanny...
Is being able to adapt to a kids needs and understand them. A 5 year old isn't able to process the world the same as you and me, and making sure you can comfort them during their troubles, big or small, can be the difference.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for children across the Autism spectrum (I'm even on it myself!), along with multiple other needs through Special Olympics and my own education. I'm not sure of specific names as it was never a need to pry.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While babysitting for an old family friend and watching movies, all three kids fell asleep on me. Was it cozy sleeping upright on the couch? No, but they were comfortable, and that's what mattered to me.
