Hello! My name is Kate, I am currently a Junior in college studying child psychology and development. Am a dedicated nanny with six years of experience providing hands-on, exceptional care for children ages infant to 12 years. I am extremely passionate about helping kids to grow, learn, be safe, and most importantly, happy! My approach revolves around creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can flourish. Doing so by introducing both fun and educational activities, while working collaboratively with the family and parents to follow what suits each child and home best. More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking kids outdoors, weather permitting, going for walks, playing at parks or having a picnic lunch. Anything to get the kids some fresh air and time outside. I also love doing hands-on activities and games that help children grow and learn while still having fun. There are so many benefits to simple appearing games that help out cognitively in the long run. Cooking and baking is another fun activity based on age range, getting to learn important rules and tasks in the kitchen and also using their imaginations in decorating and creating something! Lastly, I am a big reader and read lots as a child myself, and I believe that reading helped me tremendously thus far in life. Books can be a wonderful adventure all on their own through the mind!

My experience with special needs children...

Have experience with both one-on-one and groups of children, with various forms of disabilities. Worked with groups such as the Special Olympics, SPREAD, and Challenger. Majority experience in Autism, Down Syndrome, and Lesch Nyhan Syndrome. Ability to handle unexpected situations with confidence. I have the most long-term care experience for children with Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, through my brother who I cared for his entire life. I have experience and knowledge with children ranging from high functioning, low functioning, to needing completely hands-on care.
