A little bit about me

I am a 56 year old Franklin, Tn mom of two - my daughter is 19 (a college cheerleader) and my son is 22. I currently work in the YPlay childcare at the YMCA. I homeschooled my lower level autistic son from 1st through 12th grade.

I love being around children and value the opportunity to assist in the growth of a child. I prefer to work with children who are being taught to respect others. My children have turned out to be wonderful people, and I take credit in their own amazing success and personalities. Raise a child in the way that they should go and they will never depart from it.

Before working at the Y, I worked part-time as an independent contractor ~ Uber Pro driver, and a Diamond Shopper with Instacart and maintained a 5 star rating. Before marriage and children, I worked for the Nashville Police Dept as a 911 operator and dispatcher for 10 years, and worked as a Shift Lead at Starbucks for 4 years after that.

In my free time, I am a writer and a Canva creator.

My experience with special needs children...

My 22 year old son is lower level autistic, he has a rare eye disorder (nystagmus), he cannot drive a vehicle, I homeschooled him 1st through 12th grade - using primarily workbooks and hands on learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I really enjoy the kids at the YMCA and I am usually able to get them calm down and happy fairly quickly after the parent drops them off. I believe in the power of hugs - sometimes it's what a child needs to feel safe.
