More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've done countless volunteer activities with children such as working with schools, the read and feed program, the library, exc. I also have experience with a multitude of different families babysitting/nannying.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love outdoor activities! Anything from the beach, to the park, to empty soccer fields! I also love art and reading, so I get along great with children who LOVE arts and crafts and to be read too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is helping and watching the children grow into the best big humans they can be. I'm a social worker with a focus on children's behavioral health and child development so I love learning about their different stages of development and what they need, and being able to apply it and see the changes. Children are soft molds of clay that haven't been shaped, or tainted, by experience yet. I believe the most important part is to help them mold themselves into something they are proud to call themselves.

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat many children with special needs and both my brothers were/arep special needs. My older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia and had a TBI, and my younger brother is on the autism spectrum. I also worked at group homes for adults with intellectual disabilities for three years. With this job the patients I worked with also had a wide range of co-occurring disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, mute patients, down syndrome, and more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite nanny moment I've had is when I baby sat two children (F 1 1/2) and (M 3) and they both had little dinosaur onsies. The older brother insisted we go to the park dressed up as dinosaurs to chase the birds. There happened to be other children in dinosaur shirts there and they joined in. I don't think I've ever seen anything as funny as a bunch of 3 year olds dressed up as dinosaurs chasing birds around the park. A core memory for sure.
