Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorites depend on the age of the children I work with with, ranging from sensory play, outside games that promote healthy gross motor movement, science based learning experiences, songs both for singing and dancing, educational activities based on current age appropriate learning such as worksheets, science, and art projects based around learning numbers, letters, foundations for readings, etc. I find the best way to learn is to offer children a wide variety of opportunities to explore in a diverse way so that they can learn based on their favored ways of learning, with their interests and favorites topics in mind, that way they’re engaged and constantly excited to learn!

The most important part about being a nanny...
It feels impossible to pick one favorite moment so here’s a little bit about some of my favorites with the child I currently work with who just turned 2 years old. I’ve worked with her since she has been 3 months old and it has been an absolute honor to watch her grow and flourish in so many ways. Watching all of the hard work we put into learning letters, sounds, and words turn into progress and excitement as she is able to communicate more and more while developing early literacy skills. Another wonderful accomplishment has been watching her learn how to regulate her emotions in a healthy and safe way. Emotional regulation can be difficult for toddlers and kids in general - we take the time to really emphasize that feeling our feelings are okay, we just need to find healthy ways to express our emotions. Watching her progress has been truly awesome as I can see her now pause when she is frustrated, express that she is unhappy, while not tantruming.
