The most important part about being a nanny...
Is making sure that the child(ren) are being protected and shown love and developing a real bonding relationship with the child(ren) so that when mom and dad are away and the Nanny is taking care of them, they feel happy and safe, instead of uneasy and uncomfortable as some children tend to feel with new adults they don't know and aren't familiar with. I also believe that an extremely significantly important thing about being a nanny is to not just understand the child's parents desires and rules but to encourage and incorporate those things into your time spent with the children. I personally would want a Nanny watching my children to respect my beliefs and wishes for the way my children are being raised.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I really enjoy having fun with the kids, but them having a learning experience at the same time. One moment when I was baby-sitting 3 boys; we used the house as a "city" that we made up, they came up with a name for the city and each room was a different "buisness" and they got to choose what kind of "shop" they had was called and what they did, using monopoly money. We even elected a mayor of our "city" and used a ballad box and it was so cute. This was one of their favorite games and every time I would baby sit we would keep playing. I really enjoyed watching them pretending to be *little adults* and think about their futures and what they wanted to become.
