A little bit about me

As a compassionate and responsible caregiver with 10 years of experience working with children, I am confident in my ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your family. Being an artist in my free time, I am creative and imaginative, so children have a fun companion in me. I have gained extensive experience working with children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. I am skilled in meal preparation, scheduling, and providing age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development. My education includes a high school degree and continued education at Brown University. Additionally, I hold certifications in CPR and First Aid. Along with speaking English, I have used ASL since the age of 5. For children having trouble with language and communication, I use my ASL communication to help them express themselves and understand how language works.

My goal is to work WITH children to encourage their growth and happiness!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in daycare centers with children aged 6 months to 5 years old. I've also been a K-5 teacher's aide with classes of up to 25 children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like drawing/painting, making music, dancing, playing games, and going to the park!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Most important about being a nanny is giving children agency. Oftentimes, kids are viewed as having little control over their lives, which ends up affecting them as they get older. I've worked with children who act out simply because they think my job is to tame them or tell them what to do; that couldn't be farther from the truth! My goal is always to work alongside children in finding their own way so that down the line they can be confident people who know the value of their own choices. I start this practice very early in small ways, and I've found that it builds trust between me and kids while also helping them develop in the most comfortable way.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children with ADHD, ASD, and OCD. Many times these students had a combination of these neurodiverse experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don't have a singular favorite moment, but my favorites moments have definitely been watching babies learn that they can dance once they're stable enough on their feet. It's just super cute seeing them get so excited!

Allie S. - Seeking Work in Los Angeles

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Los Angeles, CA: Allie S.

Hi there! I'm a college student studying International Economics at Texas Christian University, and I'm looking for some fun summer work as a babysitter. I absolutely love children and have always had a natural way of caretaking. To me, being a sitter is more than just watching kids - it's about helping them learn and grow while having fun.

When I'm not studying, I love to spend time at the beach and surfing (even though I'm not great at it!), running, watching movies, reading, and collecting folding fans (I have two so far!). What sets me apart is my belief that it's important to never make a child feel little or dumb. I think it's essential to treat children with respect and kindness, and I always strive to do that in my interactions with kids. I'm excited to meet new families and make some great memories this summer!
