More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked as a volunteer in the children’s section of the Matteson Public Library, where I co-led the Pre-K science program. I was also a Teaching Assistant at an elementary school in Ithaca, and I mentored a 6-year-old foster child as part of Cornell’s Cross-Cultural Adoptee Mentorship Program (C-CAMP) . Additionally, I facilitated environmental education and led high schoolers in removing invasive species as a Crew Leader at Friends of the Forest Preserves.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite activities with kids is anything that allows them to explore and learn in hands-on ways. I love guiding them through science experiments, especially with younger children, as it sparks curiosity and excitement. Whether it’s outdoor activities like cutting invasive species or teaching environmental lessons, I’m passionate about creating experiences that are engaging, educational, and empowering for kids.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a caregiver to kids is creating a supportive, trusting environment where they feel safe and understood. Patience, consistency, and empathy are key in guiding them through challenges and helping them develop emotionally and socially. It's about fostering positive growth, being a reliable role model, and ensuring they feel valued and empowered.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite "nanny" moment was when I helped my 6-year-old mentee overcome her fear of cats during our visits to the cat cafe. At first, I was unsure how to approach it, but with a combination of stickers, a small lesson, and lots of patience, she eventually felt comfortable enough to pet the cats! Seeing her gain confidence and conquer her fear was incredibly rewarding.
