Fun age appropriate crafts, getting fresh air outside whether is a walk or at the park. I’ll play any game the kid wants making sure it’s age appropriate and safe. Cooking and baking is something my older 2 kids right now like to do with me and I still make sure the 2 year old is included too.
My experience with special needs children...
Starting in middle school I was apart of the special ed team at my school and I also volunteered for a summer when I was 13 as a counselor and was in charge of 6 special ed campers on my own even during field trips. In high school I was the head leader of our special ed team and found I had a special bond with the students.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The 2 year old I’m with right now used to cry when the parents left but he is good now and will even snuggle with me which rarely happens even with his own family.
