The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, supportive, and caring environment where children feel secure and valued. It’s about being attentive to their needs, patient when guiding them, and consistent in setting positive routines and boundaries. Building trust with both the children and their family is also key, along with encouraging learning, confidence, and emotional growth through everyday activities and interactions.
My experience with special needs children...
I have personal experience caring for a special needs child through helping my brother, who is disabled. I assist with his daily routines, provide supervision, and support him with communication and activities in a patient and understanding way. This experience has taught me how to be responsible, attentive, and adaptable to different needs, while always focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment for him.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was doing a creative family tree project with the four kids I was caring for. We used paint on canvas and each child chose colors that represented the different seasons, which made each tree unique and personal. It was a fun, hands-on activity that let them express themselves creatively while also learning about family and collaboration. Seeing how proud they were of their finished artwork made the experience really special and memorable for me.
