My experience with special needs children...
Three children I have worked with were on the spectrum. One 16 years old I would pick him up from school and have to watch him making sure he wasn’t making any mess. He was very self sufficient just couldn’t drive. Another child 10 year old boy I would wake up help him get ready for school and help with homework or whatever else he needed and wasn’t very verbal. A 2 year old boy he just didn’t talk had to do a lot of guessing.
