I currently work as a registered behavior technician specializing in children ages 1-9 with an autism diagnosis, but am soon to be moving to NOLA! (So excited!) More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Nannying for a family in California; one boy, age 5, and one girl, age 7. Working as an RBT for Hopebridge and Golden Steps, where I get to play while teaching communication and other skills in a natural, supportive, and assent-based environment. And, of course, taking care of my three younger siblings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Coloring/crafts, baking(when suitable), playing outside, reading, music listening/ singing, trips to the park, etc. and also just going with the flow of how others like to play!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Providing a positive influence and a sense of stability during a really important period in a person’s life, as well as having lots of fun!

My experience with special needs children...

1 year as an RBT working in home and in clinic. I’ve worked with both verbal and nonverbal kids ages 1-9, and have dealt with some more severe behaviors, such as aggression, elopement, self-injurious behaviors, etc. I’ve also taken some courses on developmental psychology!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The kids’ insistence on a very long bedtime story just so I wouldn’t leave so soon. That tells me that I might just be doing something right!
