A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Kaylen. I am Puerto Rican, Guatemalan, and Italian. I was born in Manhattan, New York but raised in the Bronx. I recently moved to Stratford, Connecticut about three years ago. I have five siblings, one brother, and four sisters. My experience is since I was about 10 years old, I’ve been babysitting my younger siblings and my cousin. While my mother was in college completing her home health aide degree, it was my duty to look after my three young sisters. When my sisters were then old enough to attend daycare, one of my family members needed me to babysit my 3 month old cousin up until he was 3 years old. After his parents found something more steady, I applied to a recreation center called Owen Dolen in Westchester Square located in the Bronx, New York. The recreation center is where I helped kids from pre-K to the fifth grade with homework, had snack time with, did activities with, had dance classes with, computer time, and on field trips with.
