Over the years, I have provided private homework support and tutoring for school-aged children, guided sensory development activities for infants and toddlers, and cared for kids in community and family-event settings. I also have extensive background supporting families as a professional house and pet sitter, handling multi-child household routines, and creating taste-safe, creative play spaces that encourage learning and independence.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m big on creative, hands-on fun and getting kids away from screens. Inside, I love putting on music for dance or freeze games, drawing and painting, making sensory stuff like taste-safe moon sand, or doing simple baking together in the kitchen. If they’re babies or toddlers, I weave in baby sign language so we can communicate without them getting frustrated. Outside, I love taking them on nature walks, going to the park, or just turning the backyard into a mini obstacle course. I have a bubbly personality, so I bring good energy, but I always match whatever vibe the kids need that day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, it’s all about trust and making the kids feel safe and understood. Parents are trusting you with their whole world, so I take pride in being someone they never have to stress about keeping routines steady, having fun, and helping the kids grow into confident little people.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked quite a bit with kids who have ADHD, sensory sensitivities, and developmental delays. I also know American Sign Language, which has been a lifesaver with nonverbal toddlers or kids who get frustrated trying to speak. My approach is simple: stay super patient, keep routines predictable, and meet the child right where they are without pushing or rushing them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was teaching baby sign language to a toddler who was having tough tantrums because he couldn't get his words out yet. The day he finally looked up, signed “milk,” and realized I understood him without him having to cry was amazing. Moments like that where a kid suddenly feels heard and gets a little burst of confidence are the best part of this job.
