More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
...several jobs throughout my life, including a position at BASIS Flagstaff and at the City of Peoria, caring for large volumes of children at once. Those jobs were wonderful experiences, but I am looking forward to working in a position where I can dedicate my time and energy fully to the children I care for, instead of needing to split my attention between 50 children to ensure everyone's safety.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy teaching them games and crafts from my childhood, and encouraging them to come up with ideas of their own. I often help them make their own picture books, or play word games with them, as well as setting up obstacle courses or scavenger hunts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Childhood is an incredibly formative and important part of a person's life, and everyone deserves to be given the social, critical, and emotional tools to face the world as a happy, confident, and well-rounded person.Caring for children is not a responsibility I take lightly, and I am very dedicated to my work.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with many children of different abilities over the years and I know how to adjust to ensure that their specific needs are met so they can be comfortable and safe. I care deeply about ensuring that every child gets the best experience they can have, no matter their ability.
The most important part about being a nanny...
At my last childcare job, I taught a group of second graders how to draw their own comics. Almost no other moment has been as rewarding as seeing a group of children drawing in this new art form they have learned, opening many creative doors and making each other and me laugh with their drawn jokes.

I love working with kids because you are able to see how they learn, grow, and their personalities develop. I also like the connections you are able to make with children and the special bond you can create with the family!
