I'm Interested in working part-time from my home in Newington and possibly outside of my home for the right match. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at NECCI(Newington Elementary Children's Center Inc) in the Newington schools before and afterschool program 28 years ago. I also worked for Bristol Head Start Program as well as NB board of education as a Paraprofessional for 4 years. I began my career with the State in 1999 at Long Lane School, where I worked as a Youth Services Officer with children ages 12 to 18. For 4 years I worked at the detention center as a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant where I worked closely with the Art and Music Therapist. It was in this position that I learned many Art techniques and taught crochet, jewelry making, sewing and Painting. I consider myself a creative person and enjoy playing with children and allowing them to learn through play.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to play board games with children, also sensory games like play dough or finger painting and arts and crafts. I also enjoy spending time outside playing basketball or badminton and going for walks.

Being Kind to the child and making sure they are safe and feel safe.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I worked for NECCI, the kids and I created a play that we wanted to put on for the families. It never came to fruition, but it was fun working together and observing the kids creativity and excitement grow!
At the Juvenile Facility I worked for I loved working in the Art Room with the kids painting, crocheting, making jewelry and teaching kids to sew. It was funny to see 8 to 10 male "Juvenile delinquents" enjoy crocheting in our Crochet group. It brought joy to my heart!
