A little bit about me

I have over 28 years of experience with children incl my own 3 children (28, 23, 11yo). My experience includes recurring childcare in a residential, hotel, daycare, school, and facility settings. College (61 CR), Therapeutic Foster Parent, CPR/First aid cert. I own a car, do not smoke. I am also in the Hawaii state fingerprinting database due to the nature of my job as a former CNA, RBT, TFP. I am looking for part-time sits during school hours 3-4 days per week and am flexible with days. I am also available for weekends for recurring Date nights. I am ok with pets if they do not pose a risk, light housekeeping, meal prep & I bring my own toys and activities to every sit with the exception of newborns. Other experience I have personal assisting, clerical, organizing, cust service, light housecleaning, school healthaide (Nurse), computer, data entry, etc.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Registered Behavioral Technician working with Autistic and special needs children (2-22 years old), School Health Nurse (gr PS-12), Educational Aide with the DOE, Happy Kids Maui as a full-Time Nanny, private residents, various hotels on Oahu mainly Four Seasons and other Koolina hotels.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to do arts and crafts, board games, Legos, coloring, baby doll care, barbie dolls, toy trucks and cars, play doh, painting, dollhouse, action figures, read books, etc. Sometimes I'll have a new age appropriate craft I'll bring over to share with the kiddos depending on their expressed interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Thr most important part about being a Nanny is knowing that I get to do what I love which is playing and caring for children all while helping parents out with working from home or date nights. Years ago when I was a CNA and worked with adults, I noticed a difference in the energy I felt while around sick elderly adults versus children. Working with children could not compare in how wonderful their energy was so since then this is what I've preferred and enjoyed doing. At the end of the day it makes me so happy knowing the time they've spent with me are memories created as well as had fun! Some of my clients in Australia and in California whom I've cared for since they were toddlers, still keep in touch with me on social media sending me photos every year. I can honestly say, out of all the years working in an office, working with families is much more gratifying knowing Ive made a difference.

My experience with special needs children...

I am a former Registered Behavioral Technician and Skills Trainer. I've worked for Malama Pono Autism Center and RCM Technologies for a total of 3 years. I also have experience with children with Epilepsy, Diabetes, ADD, ADHD, OCD, Down Syndrome, Severe allergies, Seizure Syndrome, as well as medically fragile within the Dept of Education.
